Survey 39 - "Do you work with anyone over 60 years of age?"

With the new age discrimination laws coming into play in October we asked our users about the age of their work colleagues and particularly if they actually work with anyone over the age of 60.

54% of respondents said YES, they did work with someone over 60 and 26% said they did not. This highlights the large number of older aged individuals working in companies today.

The law is being introduced because there is a need for it - society is changing and the working population is getting older. It will outlaw discrimination based on age. Employees will no longer be denied a job or harrassed because of their age and will also benefit from an equal chance of training and promotion. You can find out more on the government website or your local Citizens Advice Bureau.
